Keeping a positive outlook on life is one of the more important aspects of fighting anxiety and learning to live with it. I think that starting our day on a positive note is the easiest way to begin with a positive outlook so here are 5 ways to start your day right!

1. Sleep with the curtains open to let in the light.
Instead of waking up to dreary room, wake up to natural sunlight! Not only is it beautiful, it is a gradual change in light rather than a shockingly bright flourescent lamp.

2. Stretch! Get your blood flowing.

3. Think a positive thought or thoughts.
My favorite way to do this is throw on some peppy music. Check out this Feel Good Indie Rock playlist from Spotify! Includes some songs from one of my favorite bands, Two Door Cinema Club.
4. Do something that makes you happy.
For me this is texting my boyfriend good morning and getting morning snuggles from my dog, Norman. It could be reading for 10 minutes or going for a run. Anything that makes you happy.
5. Drink a cup of tea!
Tea is a great way to gently wake up your body and give you a little caffeine. The Tea Spot teas have been my tea of choice lately.
